To use the systemsetup command with either the -setremotelogin or -setremoteappleevents flag in macOS Catalina 10.15 or later, first give the parent process full-disk-access. You can grant full-disk-access manually or using Mobile Device Management (MDM):

  • Manually grant Full Disk Access: choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then select the Privacy tab. Scroll down and click Full Disk Access, then add the parent process.

  1. SMART Utility and Mac OS X Catalina 10.15. So far, SMART Utility is fully compatible with Mac OS X Catalina 10.15. This includes the kernel extension to read external drives. With the notarization requirement, and the changing of how kernel extensions are permitted, there might be additional work. However, right now it completely works.
  2. Install mojave on a separate drive, install the newest EOS Utility and then drag and drop or use a usb thumb drive to copy over just the application to the Catalina partition and see if that works.

Hello, my Canon 80D was connecting to my computer nicely until I recently updated to macOS 10.15 Catalina beta. The camera no longer connects properly to my computer, and I am unable to install the EOS Utilities. The EOS Utility installer starts, asks me for my password, but then freezes at 'Prepar.
