Why? FCP will gain nothing and a number of elements are not supported.
and need to import .mpeg files which were captured from my Sony HDV camera by Premiere CS4.
Best bet would be to recapture from the original HDV tapes.
At the first time, I tried to import, but FCP said mpeg2 was not supportable. And I found that there was a QuickTime plugin which would help me deal with it. So I went to store.apple.com and bought 'QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component'.
FCP comes with the mpeg2 component. Why did you purchase it again?
After I downloaded and installed, FCP could import those .mpeg files. But the problem is, when I played them, the monitor was totally blank and there were no sounds from those MPEG2 files.
Boot into 32 bit Snow Leopard and try again.
